FREELANCE PHOTOJOURNALIST
Eric Vryn is a photojournalist based in Central Texas, covering the Austin-San Antonio Corridor and the border region. Assignments have included coverage of the July 4th Central Texas flooding for Getty Images as well as political protest and social-policy stories for The Texas Tribune, including the ‘No Kings’ demonstrations and the federal government shutdown’s impact on Head Start programs.
Before working as a photojournalist, Eric served in the U.S. Army and spent more than 17 years in Texas state and municipal government. His experience inside public institutions shapes how he photographs the way decisions in Austin and Washington impact Texas communities. He holds a B.A. in political science from the University of Texas at San Antonio and is a member of the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) and Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ).
Based in Central Texas and available for assignments across the United States.
